I'm 39 feeling like I am gonna lose it. Bachelors in IT Management. Veteran of US Air Force as Network Intel Analyst, Govt Contractor as All-Source Analyst, Worked as Project Manager and Security Analyst. I left the govt world to pursue a job at Siemens in 2014. Moved family to Cincinnati.
Job ended up not what it was all cracked up to be. Hard to find a job in this city. Father passed away in 2017 and it hit me and my family hard. Performance started to slip and I left in November of 2017. I am not as technical as my counterparts as I am more of a functional analyst. Tried to find work outside to another state, but my clearance has lapsed since the job I was working for didnt use one. I went to Miami University to get a second bachelors in Digital Design. Learned Web/Graphic Design, UI/UX Design, and media studies. I work a shit job as tech support making 20% of what I made previously. Bills are adding up and I just dont know how to make anything work financially or job wise. All I get from recruiters is that I am overqualified for certain positions or I am beaten out of jobs by those with more technical skills. Looking back I should have stayed in the DC area instead of moving here. I feel I am missing something and I really am worried. Can anyone help?
Maybe this is the wrong forum for this. I dunno. Just need help.
