Hi all, I currently work as an in-house metrologist for a chemistry lab. Basically, I fix all of their instruments, qualify them, etc etc. It's a contract position though so I actually work for a different company but am placed at this site full time. The site I'm currently at is growing quickly with numerous new hires which has also led to an increase in my workload. (Which I am able to manage.) They've moved me around a bit as they've hired people , but always into a new office, which was fine until I was assigned an open window seat only to have someone my junior lock the door and take it. But whatever, I could deal until they filled all of the desk seats and asked me to move out of my office and into the lab, where I won't be able to eat, drink and have to wear PPE all day long. Additionally, I won't even have a proper assigned space that is mine. I'll just be floating about working wherever I can find an open computer.
I already spend about half of my time in the lab anyway, but also have piles of paperwork that I like to be able to drink coffee while working through. I'm feeling very demotivated and quite angry about this move since I have more experience and time served then many of the people who have recently been assigned seats that I didn't get. I'm not sure how to handle this since it's already a done deal, but I'm struggling to focus at work because it just feels insulting and humiliating to get moved like this. I don't want to leave since another year of experience would really help on my job search(this is my first year in this role) but I'm not sure how long I can work here after this. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
