I graduated last June and have been working for my current company for 6 months now. I like the people and I feel like there’s potential for me here. My pay isn’t as high as I know I could get elsewhere, but it’s good enough to me for now.
My biggest issue is the city that I live in. I went to college here and thought I could hang around for a little longer, but I’m now finding that without being in college, this city is incredibly boring and doesn’t match my interests.
My company has other offices in other cities where I would be interested in staying. Is it even worth asking for internal relocation after 6-12 months? I’m at a point where I either need to move offices within the company or leave entirely because I can’t live here for much longer. Wondering if any companies would even entertain that kind of idea from such a new employee. And if I do want to leave, should I just wait it out for a full year? Is 6 months to early?
