Is it possible to be overqualified when applying for jobs?

Hi all,

A bit of background. I'm a 24F working a modest job in the city. I'm giving my notice tomorrow to move back home to my quiet town in order to start saving and investing.

My current title is "Business Manager" and I do some minor accounting, forecasting, invoicing etc. as well as the office manager duties and some other management work.

Before that, I was an "Executive Assistant/Office Manager"

I've been applying for jobs I'm definitely qualified for IE "Admin Assistant" "Office Administrator" etc. but I have only received ONE call out of maybe 20-30 applications.

I'm not trying to be cocky, but my resume is good and well written, as well as my cover letter. Can anyone offer advice on what I can do differently, or if i should downplay my resume?

I have been told previously before by employment agencies that you can be overqualified and you won't get a call because they think you'll be bored by the job.

Any advice is appreciated as I'm moving in two weeks and have no real leads!
