I applied for a job that will get me out of the field I've been longing to get out of forever. There's nothing against people in it or the field in general, but I'm tired of having it as my only experience.
This job (I interview for tomorrow) is completely out of my experience except for customer service. I have only done it in at home environment and it wasn't for like years and years (except the babysitting, which was forever ago).
I really want this job. They will train me and help me with any certifications I need.
Professional experience lacking: Caregiving
Personal experience: Babysitting as a young teen till about 15 or 16. Diapers, feeding, playing outside or inside with them and their toys, etc...(I'm 34 now so this was some time ago)
Caring for my mother when she had knee surgery. Cooking, cleaning, getting groceries, doing all household chores and even cleaning her bedside commode (a few times).
Carrying for my ex when he was in the hospital (changed diapers and sponge bathed him) and caring for him when out of the hospital. Helping him dress, cooking, cleaning, but not feeding or anything.
