On Wednesday of this past week, I attended a hiring event and interviewed with the Regional Manager of a large retail/drug store chain. She really liked my experience and attitude, and was enthusiastic about me joining the team. She said she would send my information over to the location I would be working at, and that the manager there would be in touch.
That evening (Wednesday), I ended up taking a nap that lasted longer than expected, and missed a call from the store around 6pm. Unfortunately, I didn't wake up until nearly 9pm, which is when the store closes, and I didn't feel it would be professional to call back right at closing. Instead, I called back around 10am the next morning (Thursday), and the manager who had contacted me was not in. I was initially told by the person who answered the phone that he would be in later that day, and then I was transferred to another manager who said he would not be in at all that day, but who took down my name and number for callback.
I didn't hear anything Friday and it is now Saturday afternoon (3pm). Im very interested in the position, and I'm just wondering how long I should wait before following up again? Is it unprofessional to call on a weekend, even if the store is open?
I haven't really had this scenario before...previously, people have always been good about getting back to me, so any advice is appreciated.
