After a pretty desperate job search (messy, expensive divorce) I got an offer I’m really excited about and accepted. One catch: I have a pending misdemeanor charge (messy divorce). Filling out my new hire paperwork and I’m panicking about the background check. I’m in NY. May be able to resolve the case before my start date. No idea what to do. Has anyone gone through this? Any tips? Should I just relax? Am I screwed?
