Last week, I had a 10 minute interview with an HR representative of a great company. The HR rep said that the interview would be short because he just needed to ask some basic HR questions, as he had already shared my resume with the hiring manager and the hiring manager wanted to interview me immediately. The HR rep asked what my target salary was, and I gave him the range of 80k-85k plus health insurance and 401k match. He said that the hiring team was targeting 80k as the salary.
I then had an interview with the hiring manager, and she said that I was the most qualified person to apply for the role and she wants the role filled quickly. The interview went very well and I am meeting with the managing director of the team next week.
If I receive a job offer, which I think/hope I will, should I negotiate the salary higher? Will that make me look greedy?
