I had a job offer through a friend in another company, and they wanted to start really soon so I gave them only one weeks notice. I was set to start on Monday THEN I got a call from hr saying because I had lived overseas it could take up to six weeks before I can start due to an overseas background check.
I can’t believe this happening, and not sure what I’m going to do for six weeks not working. I’ve already started applying for other jobs but I doubt I’m going to find a company that will pay me as much as this job. I’ve even started thinking about doing Uber.
Has this happened to anyone before?
