18 year old package handler in california, looking to get break into retail

Hey guys I am currently two months into working for Fedex as a package handler

but i am getting physically impaired from all the back-breaking labor.

I was looking into getting a retail job, like a store clerk or associate.

The jobs where you help and ring-up customers and maintain cleanliness of the store. How do I increase my chances of landing a job like this?
