Overcoming Corporate Stockholm Syndrome

So, I have huge depression and anxiety from working at a cultish corporation for 3 years, being drip fed messages daily about how it’s the best company in the world and we should feel lucky to be there, while simultaneously being compared to my peers in a negative way (despite being one of the top achievers). I was turned down for a management promotion a few months ago (I’m a 31 year old female with solid experience, the position was eventually given to a 24 year old guy fresh out of college, go figure).

Anyway, despite all of this, I’m finding it hard to put steps in place to leave. I liken it to being with an abusive boyfriend who punches you in the face then tells you he’ll change. It’s really getting me down and I keep thinking I’ll never have such opportunities again, even though I’m so miserable there, there are some days I cry at my desk and hope nobody sees me. I don’t know what to do - any advice would be appreciated, it’s really hard to talk to the people around me about it because they don’t understand this corporate brainwashing I’ve been put through and just think I should leave like it’s easy peasy.
