Hi, so basically I’m a teen who’s 15, after countless pushes for me to get a job from my parents I got one. It’s been like 2 months now, of being a busboy. I work 2 days a week. I work 6 hours straight. The most I ever made during the 2 months were 50$ one day, that was once. Though now, it’s averaged to 25$ a day.
I know it’s normal that I will make very little, but is it that bad for a inexperienced person, cheap labor, to make 25$ for 6 hours straight a day? It’s my first job, and I don’t want to quit, but I feel like I’m being taken advantage of. I feel resentment when I get a 5$ Total tip out and get paid 20$. Also, this job is really near at home, though getting another job then this one currently is like nearly impossible.
Should I quit? My back and feet aches everyday coming home without getting a break, standing up never sitting, and well a 3-min bathroom break every 2 hours. I carry this bin full of dishes like 20-25 pounds every few 20 minutes, and really try to bring much effort, though it really comes down to money. The waitresses are nice, and the main-payer, but are they with how much their paying me?
Sorry for this lengthy post (first job, a big thing for me), and please reply if I should quit or still remain in this job.
