I started a new job about 2 months ago as a business analyst with a Fortune 500 healthcare company. Work has been very slow these first 2 months since I’ve been here. I feel very underutilized. Like some days I come in and do nothing the whole day. I’ll sometimes work on some technical skills I can improve on. I’ve asked my manager for more work and he tells me the same thing, “test the new system”. There’s only so much I can test in the new system which isn’t even in its final stage. I want to start looking for new jobs but I’m concerned that it’ll look bad because it’ll look like I’m a job hopper.
History: - 2 years 3 months at PwC - 1 year 1 month at Deloitte
Another thing is people at Deloitte/PwC seem way more competent than the people at my new company. Seems like people just work harder at Deloitte/PwC as well.
I left Deloitte because I wanted to get into the medical/healthcare industry. I know some people will say, you’re making money doing nothing but I’m not one of those people who can sit back and do nothing. I’m considering going back to Deloitte or finding a new job within the same industry or doing sales. But should I wait since it’s only been 2 months?
