First post, mobile, blah blah in the USA
I have worked at a large hospital on the west coast for the last 9 years. Since I started working here I have been accumulating sick days in addition to my vacation days, I have over 200 hours banked for ‘sick’ days
Over the last decade things have been progressively worse for employees so it was no surprise when they announced to our unions they will be removing our sick days at the end of 2019 and replacing with short term disability. We will also not be cashed out for our bank of hours so it’s become a use it or lose is situation.
I was also denied every request for vacation I put in during our open enrollment (we have to request vacation time for the entire year in advance)
In an attempt to not lose the hours I have earned, and to actually get some time off in 2019 I’m trying to think of ways where I could get a doctors note (required for illness longer than 3 days) without having any real illness other than maybe some dental work I have been putting off
Would love to hear the internets clever ideas!
