Hi everyone. I have to keep some of the details out as to not disclose what company I work for. I work for a small food manufacturing and I have been working for them for 2 years on various production lines. There are three different production lines (Line 1 makes chocolate, Line 2 makes pastries, Line 3 makes nuts - I am totally making this up). When I was hired on, I was just a temp on Line 1 and honestly I did not think I'd work at the company forever lol, but I liked the company and decided to stay at the company. At the time, there was an internal job opening for Line 2 where I filled out an internal application and the company ended up hiring me on (temp to hire). I did not even have a formal interview for Line 2 since it was still production line work (same tasks just different product), though I just had to talk to the supervisor briefly.
This week, HR posted internal job on the bulletin board for Quality Assurance and I really want the position. This is a totally different job, but I had some cross-training opportunity. However, I have never worked on Line 3. I really want this job and the job only requires a high school diploma and I just completed my college degree.
I would like advice on how to prepare for an internal interview at a food manufacturing company. What types of internal interview questions are always asked in an interview? I printed off the job description from my company's intranet, but honestly I have no idea how to prepare for it. I haven't filled out the internal application yet, but I want to boost my chance of getting this internal job.
