I have a long work history, but my current position is only my second "full time in an office 9-5" job. I am fully immersed now in the office environment. Beyond the obvious, are most office environments a mess in terms of bad management, unhappy employees, unfair and unjust things happening, and so on? I am sitting here after a ridiculous couple months with just unbelievably egregious things going on here, wondering if every office would be like this. I am thinking, well maybe even though i have liked this current job, maybe I should start looking. But my next thought is, I bet every work place is like this.
But I dont know. I know it makes a difference whether its a private corporation vs say a government entity or non profit organization because the motivations for "high quality" employees differ. So across settings, do you all find that you encounter a lot of stupid shit going on? Employees getting away with things, drama in the office, unfair standards, unjust practices, shitty incompetent management, poor handling of situations by supervisors, etc...Would this happen in say a presitgious company like Google? Is this common? Are there offices where things are run really well, employees are on the whole satisfied and treated well and the office is managed with competence?
TL;DR Are crappy workplaces where supervisors are incompetent and unfair things go on common in all/most offices? Corporations? Businesses? Does there exist "high quality" workplaces (offices) or are they mostly varying degrees of shit?
