So I did some "networking" over Christmas, and a family friend (whom I really don't know that well) told me to check out her company's website and apply for a position. She then told me to shoot her an email if/when I did so, so she could put in a good word for me to the hiring manager.
I applied for the position, but I'm having some trouble formatting the email. I don't really know what to say that doesn't sound like "hey I applied, go tell the hiring manager to hire me". Does anyone have any ideas/recommendations about this? Thank you in advance!
