18 years old and cant find a minimum wage job

ive had interviews, one of them i was told there was a good possibility, but more people were going to be interviewed that day. they all end with "we still have more people to interview". on my resume (which teachers of my high school approved of) i put on there i have 4 years of experience helping my dad in his auto shop. he restores muscle cars, ive did things like lift tires, sanding, etc. only thing ive never did was weld and getting under the hood. when i was in school other students got the jobs and i have no clue how.
