Hi all,
I had an experience today I just don't seem to understand. I am currently looking to move into a new company. My current employer currently has no room to expand and move up in my department. I know you have to put in your time and experience. So, in order for me to reach the next level of my job, would be to move on to a different company. I applied for a job and got a phone interview today.
I was excited, thinking that I have the experience and the drive to move up to the next level. The guy that interviewed me flat out said, the company wants this experience and that is not on your resume, why is that? I told him that the opportunity does not exist here and that I am ready and committed to show I am ready. He said, well we wouldn't hire you for this job you would be only hired on in this position. I once again told him about my previous training and I am ready for the task. After 10 minutes or so, he said I dont think you would be a fit, but I'll still pass it along just dont get your hopes up. Basically after that was saying goodbye and if some reason I move on he will let me know.
My question is, if you have my resume and you know exactly what your looking for, then why waste the time and energy to do this interview? I feel like it was pointless and after feeling so upbeat about it going into the interview. I just felt exhausted and depressed with the outcome of them basically saying your not what we are looking for and bye. Is this something that is normal? Why would this even be a thing if they already know you dont have what they want on your resume?
