Why is work made like it is an extremely complicated thing?

The concept of work should have been simple in that when someone wants help, they ask for it, and people who wants to do it, take it and get paid. But instead they add many many things into the equation making work look like some kind of ritual from the application to interview to getting hired to your day to day in the company. It should have been a very simple thing like you want help I help you and get paid, that is all but they instead are looking for things beyond that. Even to the point of terms like get a job, lose a job instead of company lose help making it sound like I am the losing one here.
