Why does getting a job feel impossible?

I'm 22 in NY and after high school I worked under the table for a few places over a couple of years. Last year I got a job at Walmart and the work condition there wasn't the worse. Over the 8 months over working there the work condition got worse and worse, especially after getting a new supervisor in a position above me. Eventually I quit after one of my coworkers got in trouble for something she didn't do and the new supervisor messed up on, this is the day after the store manager went on vacation and it didn't feel like there was much to do. I threw my vest on the salesfloor and told her I quit.

It's been 7 months since then and I've applied to many jobs, at least 3 a day since I quit. Now I live with my parents, don't own a cell phone anymore, nor does this place own a home phone because my parents only use cell phones. I've been using my mothers cell phone as a contact number. My uncle tells my I can't come up with a compelling resume. Getting a job now feels impossible. Ever since I quit Walmart I've never been called about a job nor been offered one. Anyone have an Idea how I can get out of this hole I'm in?
