Should I follow up?

Hello r/jobs,

I interviewed for a position three weeks ago. It seemed to go well and they told me they would get back to me in a week. I followed up the next week and was told they were still reviewing candidates. I still haven’t heard back. I know I’d be working with a pretty erratic professor who travels a lot, but would it still be appropriate for me to follow up? I’m assuming I didn’t get the position but it would still be nice to know.
