Rejected via Indeed but communicated with me through email and phone?

I applied via Indeed and email and phone.

They invited me to an interview via email and phone. I interviewed today, and I was rejected on Indeed.

This all seems super sudden and weird, like why didn't they just reject me via email?

Was it a mistake or was it a rejection for sure? It just seems super weird. Did they just not want to type out a rejection email, hence they used Indeed?
