Negotiating Change in Control Agreement as new employee

In negotiating a new position with a company undergoing merger talks, what is the best way for me to secure a change in control agreement payout, if the company terminates my position within 6 months of the merger? Is there standard language or terms? I'm at a mid-senior level, and the position is important to the current company but likely will be redundant to the new company. (Think HR, Finance, Operations, IT) I was thinking of asking for maybe 25% of annual salary, giving that I'd be accepting this job knowing that a merger is imminent, and would need to commence a new job hunt if I'm terminated. Thank you!
