Is it just me or does it seem like the lion's share of jobs require years of experience in that field?

How do you get a job in a new industry without experience? There are so few entry level jobs and so many applying for them. It seems like employers just want people who can do as many people's jobs as possible.

I keep hearing about the abundance of jobs in the newspapers. Do they mean absolutely shit jobs in which experience will get you nothing but more shit jobs?
