How important is the school you go to for business?

Sorry if this is the wrong sub or if I’m violating any rules. Not sure where else to ask this.

I’m going to the University of Missouri next year as a Business Administration major, and I plan to go the Marketing route.

I’ve heard that in business, prestige matters a whole lot more than most other jobs.

Is the job market difficult for average students from average state schools? What can I do in college to get a leg up?
