Does it look bad to leave a job after only a few months?

Currently I work at an amusement park and I love my job. However, the park closes at the end of the year and doesn't reopen until April of next year. I don't want to go four months without a job, so I was planning on applying to a different job, staying for four months, and then going back to the amusement park after it reopens. My mom told me that was a bad idea and would make me look like I wasn't committed enough to hold down a job for a long time. Would it look bad if I did this? I'm not really sure where to go from here.
