My background check finished during the middle of the week and HR asked me whether I am still able to start on the scheduled date. I decided to delay the start date by one week so I can give my employer a full two weeks notice (which I realized only now wasn’t necessary!).
I feel my new employer wasn’t too happy about this, but HR did allow me to take one extra week. I sent an email to hiring manager saying my check is done and i look forward to start on x and there’s been no reply. I am wondering if I should send another email to follow up and get across the message that this is because I need to wrap up some projects, or this is not necessary?
I want to start off on a good standing and I feel this already didn’t help. Is there anything I can do now?
