As a child I dreamed of working as a firefighter. I ended up joining the military and went on to later obtaining a degree in fire science when I was discharged from the military. This past summer I spent six months fighting wildland fires in Oregon and Washington and I've just recently obtained my EMT lisence. The only issue its that last year I was dating a woman who was insane to the point that she filed a retraining order against me. Luckily, with all the evidence I had to dispute her allegations, the order was dropped by the judge and I went on with my life. Ive recently been facing a dilemma as to whether or not the restraining order will play a role in the process of trying to get on a full time structure fire department. Its been causing me a great deal of stress to be honest. Im debating either spending the money to get my paramedics lisence, or give up on the dream completely. Currently 27 years of age and need to figure my life out. Any advice?
