To give notice, how?

Hey there, quick background... Had a great boss, went tru a reorg a few months back and my awesome boss was let go, totally inappropriately. A lady I in another department which got eradicated ended up being the new dept head, kinda odd, as the whole team only knew her as a project manager only.

Anyways, market is good so got a few offers and decided on one. Now it's time to give notice. Iffy situation is that she is getting married this weekend and will be gone starting tomorrow. I do want to get the 2 week clock starting though. Do I give notice to her, or do I wait till she is gone and notify her boss and hr? My husband thinks I should do the latter.

What's the right thing to do here?
