Actually, this is in regards to my wife, not that it matters. She has all but been told that one job she interviewed for is going to make her an offer. The pay is OK, but not what she could make at ANOTHER job that she's currently in the interview process for. In all likelihood, the first job will make the official offer before she knows the results of this other job interview. She much prefers the second job because of the pay.
So...what to do? Does she contact the second job after the interview process is over (final interview is tomorrow) and let them know that while she prefers them, she has another offer, in the hopes that they may be able to tell her the results sooner rather than later? She does not want to accept the first job and then back out after a week of employment. They are incredibly nice people, and she has a very positive vibe from them. But a job that pays up to 20k more a year is naturally gonna win out, in most cases. Any advice would be appreciated.
