Choose between two jobs, or none?
I have been job hunting and after I put my resume on monster, a lot of jobs contacted me for interviews and I got two job offers that have nothing to do with my field. They are both sales jobs. I have a background in communications, pr, marketing and journalism.
One job involves selling an internet services and cell phone service provider inside of a retail space, but they also highlighting their management training program where I would have the opportunity to hire others and train them up in as little of 3 months. I don’t have any management training, so it will allow me to practice public speaking and managing other people.
The other job is as a financial service provider, selling financial services to people. There is an opportunity to make a lot of money, or no money, depending on how well you do with your contacts.
I talked to a family member who told me i should turn them both down. I am leaning towards trying the financial service provider job, but both are not what I would want to do long term.
Any thoughts or suggestions? I know how hard it is to job hunt while you have a job, especially while learning an entirely new job like the financial one. I also had an interview on friday and one on monday for jobs in my field. But I have had a lot of “almost” jobs, such as 2 or 3 interviews, with no offers.
