I've changed my mind about a job offer I accepted but I have no clear line of communication with anyone in management. How much effort should I put into letting them know?
After I accepted this job I thought it would be a quick on-the-job induction followed by employment. Instead, I was told there would be an online induction that I would be emailed about later that week.
After receiving no email for a week other than a confirmation of my bank details, I decided to call the store. For the next few days I would call, wait for 5 minutes, and then shut the phone.
I tried replying to the confirmation email I had received before I finally got a call from a manager(?) at the store reminding me to complete my induction, which I had no idea how to do.
I end up getting the details to get onto the website where I find an induction course with an expected time of 12.5 hours. Even rushing through one of the 30 minute sections took me 20 minutes. I've been instructed by upper upper management that I will not be compensated for this.
The offer was for a casual sales assistant role and the company has no issue finding new employees. I no longer want the job but I can't seem to tell anyone this.
How important is it that I communicate this to them?
TL;DR
Got offered a casual sales assistant role that I accepted. I no longer want the job. I have no way to tell them this. Do I need to tell them?
