Hello. I have a question regarding the above topic and I’m not really sure if this is normal, or if I’m being taken advantage of.
I’ve been at my company for about a year and I am hourly. Over the last few months, I have been expected to put in extra hours both during my lunch break and also after my normal business hours. There is a company “Halloween party” and I’ve been the one designated to create and decorate for the event. I’ve stayed hours after my shift ended and the topic of getting paid overtime has not come up. I’m not entirely sure how or if I should inquire about it. My husband is also an hourly employee and every second after the clock he is compensated for.
Is this something worth mentioning? I am not trying to complain and I like my job, but I am just not sure what to do about this. I mean, I work for a corporation and they certainly don’t work for their clients without getting paid.
