Help with job appication

Hey im new to reddit and im not quite sure where to post this so i apologize if this not the correct forum. Im a recent graduate and have been applying to jobs. On many job applications, i noticed that they include proficiency under professional competencies . Im not sure what they mean by this and i tried to google it but haven't found anything.
