Hello, i am a 19 year old male in Kentucky looking to get into being a Journeyman apprentice. However, I am sort've confused about how to actually get my foot into the door. Some people tell me that you don't need experience to be an apprentice and this article I read said that you should have experience and that you can wait up to two years just to be selected to be an apprentice.
What steps should I take to becoming an apprentice? I don't have any experience, but I am willing to work towards getting experience. I am willing to work long hours and do grunt work, etc. Should I work as an entry level position in the industry to get that experience, take classes, or just apply? I am confused about how all of this works and I have spent a lot of time today trying to learn about opportunities in my area and what requirements are.
