Applied for full time but recruiter asking again if you want to do full time or internship

I applied to a company for full time role. I mentioned nowhere that I want to do internship. But she later asked me in between the process if I want to internship or full-time. She said she wanted to clarify because I'm still a student. I told her I'll graduate in summer and I would like to join after that. This happened to me twice now with different companies. I don't want to do anymore internship because I've already done every summer. I want to do full time job. I wanted to know is it because I'm applying for full time roles too early or any other reason? I'll graduate in summer 2019.
