I am currently a music teacher in the US with an BA in music education. I am unhappy with my pay, hours, and ultimately dealing with children(and their parents).
My current contract takes me through the end of the school year, but my pay will continue through August. I am looking for a new career and am curious what types of certifications, training, or experience I could acquire between now and then to make myself more marketable in a new field.
I believe that I have many transferrable skills from my time in music and education but am unsure where to go from here. Music has been my passion since I was a child and making my passion my career has taken a lot of the joy that I used to get from it away. I would like to do something less emotionally involved. I have done some googling of "jobs for teachers leaving education" and plan on looking into instructional design. Any other suggestions or recommendations of training or certifications that I could start over the next 10 months?
