I am a student applying to an internship. It’s mainly communications/research/administrative duties for a nonprofit. In lieu of a cover letter they ask me to answer a series of prompts, and the first one is to “describe my professional goals, how my background has impacted my professional goals, and how this internship will help me achieve my professional goals.”
I have absolutely no idea what I want to do as a career. I honestly have a new interest every week, I’m double majoring in fields that interest me but don’t have a lot in common. I’m a first year undergraduate student and I want to take advantage of these opportunities I have to explore, but I don’t have any real “goal”. I feel like there’s so much out there that I don’t know about that I don’t want to limit myself to only one career goal. I’ve mainly just been grabbing every experience/opportunity/connection offered to me in hopes things will start falling into place.
Does anyone have any advice on how to answer a question like this? The other questions are no problem, but I’m really caught up on this one.
