I am currently having a spat with a co-worker. My spouse, who has never really worked at a job that didn’t employ family, suggested that I always have to have an “enemy” at whatever workplace I’ve been at. This would be someone that I complain about a lot and can’t seem to get along with. They do things that bother me, they don’t do their job well, they dislike me for some reason, they mistreat me. It’s like Dwight and Jim but without the secret respect.
Then, he also said I always seem to have a “squad” that backs me up. He suggested I look at what I’m doing to determine if it’s me that is so polarizing or if it’s truly the actions of others. He can’t understand why I always manage to find someone or a group of people that become my workplace enemy.
So, Redditors, is my husband correct in assuming that it’s just me, or does everyone have workplace enemies?
