Hi all,
I got fired from my last job -- they came up with a client-complaint kind of "for cause" reason. Super toxic leadership, great peers most of whom have also left for better. I was literally set to hand in my 2 weeks notice at lunch that day, but they beat me to it by less than 3hrs. The last 6 months were so bad that I almost removed them from my job history all together, but I can't explain away a 2.5yr gap like that.
They burned me out and I'll never apply to be a project manager again -- getting certified for cyber security and starting over from the bottom.
What will employers ask that company if they verify work history? I didn't trust them leading up to my dismissal and I don't trust them now to not torpedo me a second time.
Edit: This is the only negative incident in a 12 year career history; it's really messed with my head.
