I got fired from my job and found another job and now they are asking for reference from my old job. What do I do? (They don't know I was fired yet)

Greetings, so here's the situation: on the onboarding background check form they ask for previous employment detail, name of the manager, phone number (of the department, it does not say of the manager) and a separate box in another section tell me to put down references to my old jobs/school. As of right now I'm putting N/A for the phone number of the department, and I'm putting down my friend/coworker at my old work place as a reference. Will this suffice? Will it look suspicious and will I get fired from this new job I just accepted because of it? Anyone got any bright ideas?
