How do y'all deal with infuriating bosses? I swear my boss never tells me anything and when I told him he needs to start to telling me things and he had the gall to ask me how it's affected my work. I told him "literally right now" and he just goes "hmmm..." as if that moment wasn't frustrating enough for me. This was the following conversation afterwards:
My boss: ok .. will update you when i have hire someone like this
Me: Thank you
My boss: ur are harder then my my mom on rules 😛
Lol
Me: I needed to know this to have accurate information [redacted]
It's my job
[redacted employee information]
Me: I'm just trying to do my job
My boss: yes .. agreed .. just kidding ..
u are like my mom .. to be good for us
Me: I'm not like a mom. I'm just trying to my job
My boss: ok get it ..
i mean got .. it .. will get u the info next time ..
Me: That's all I ask for. Thank you
It would be one thing if I was an admin assistant but I'm the HR manager. All of this information was regarding an employee file. He doesn't see the importance in telling the person he hired to run the Human Resources part of his company any of the HR information. It's ridiculous. He does this all the time. He makes changes in my job description and then doesn't tell me. Then he throws extra work on me at random.
I'm the accountant, the HR Manager, the Immigration liaison, the office manager, vendor manager. Literally everything and he doesn't pay me a living wage (35K in one of the most expensive cities in the state with literally no benefits). Then he tries to make me fill out the paperwork for his naturalization. He wanted me to make his profile with USCIS and everything. I literally didn't know any of the information the government needed and I was working on all the information for our H-1B candidates (what he actually hired me to take care of). So I had to tell him that it would be easier if he filled it out for himself.
To make matters even worse it feels like he never knows what's going on. Every single one of my friends says that this company feels shady or that I started working on the Titanic (and it feels like we're all of 300 yards from the iceberg).
