Title is the main question. I have a unique situation in which I had underwent two interviews for a position, and I was not hired. This isn’t really unique lol. I was denied the position on Friday March 19th, however the following Monday, March 22nd, the director of the department reached out to me saying they were going to be adding a new position early this summer and that I had impressed them in the interview process and would not have to re-interview. They asked for a list of references, which I provided, who 2/3 were contacted on Friday, March 26th. The third reference, an old manager, was not able to answer their phone at the time. On Tuesday March 30th I had followed up with this old manager to check if she had been reached out to. She told me at this point that she was not able to talk to them on the previous Friday, but she called the company back that Tuesday the 30th for the company to reach back out to her so she could provide a reference for me. I am very much so looking forward to this potential new job opportunity, and I am wondering when a good time to follow up again with my old manager would be as to not seem like I am pestering her with “did they call you yet? Did they call you yet?” This is mainly just due to the nature of the fact that the company could really go in any direction with a position that isn’t truly even available yet, and I would love to have an offer as fast as possible to ease my nerves. Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks!!
