I'm currently unemployed, and have had much luck getting something new lined up yet. Ive lowered my standards down to basic customer service jobs and help desk positions, but Ive only had a few bites so far, and not many interviews.
Ive been applying on Indeed, and using my Indeed Resume. I take whatever tests they ask for, usually score "highly proficient" or "Expert" and send the company a message after a few days asking to setup a meeting and saying why I feel the role is a good fit.
What I haven't been doing is using a Cover Letter. This has mostly been to save time, to apply to jobs as soon as possible, but I worry this may be costing me positions? My current cover letter template basically says "You seem to be looking for x, x, and x. I have x, x, and x, (describing examples/experience), and this is why I feel I'd be an excellent fit!" but I dont use it often to save time. Am I missing out a lot from not included a Cover Letter?
