Question: Should I ask for a raise if my role is changing to require additional skills my current role does not use.
Hello, I've been in my current role as a web analyst for almost 6 years. I primarily build dashboards and report directly out of Adobe Analytics while supplementing with custom Excel Dashboards I build, etc. I just found out that my team is being broken up and reassigned as part of a reorganization and my new role with require me to report out of various databases which will require SQL and Python, which I have a working knowledge of but have not used it in my current role.
My question is since these are very technical skills that in the open job market would be fairly compensated for, should I ask for a raise because the skill cap of my new role is now higher? Thanks.
