So since covid hit, I have absolutely been shafted with jobs, money and furlough. I have a University degree (UK) in sport science for 3 years now and a qualified PT. But i don't know what i want to do yet. Probably something in health, maybe with kids in the future.
In march 2020 i worked for a privately run gym, and although i loved the clients, it was poorly run and working conditions / equipment weren't very good, but i stuck it out.. Then covid hit. Around may time i was told i wasn't eligible for furlough, something to do with the company not being able to get it. I looked for jobs during lockdown, but there was so little about. I returned to work there in july but due to changes there, i left in September. I got offered a full time job at a franchise health club. Better money, better facilities.
Then lockdown 2 in November . I then found out i wasnt eligible for furlough AGAIN. I missed the cut off date by 4 DAYS. i couldn't claim either due to my partners wage..... I returned and went back to work through January.
Then lockdown 3... January. Again, they didnt change the date, fast forward to now, me and my partner have used savings, he is paying for everything and I've been job hunting for months. I have lost thousands and many others were also excluded.
Anyway. I still have this job, but i dont know if I see myself here long term. I don't really know the point of sharing my story, or if anyone is in the tye same boat.
I quite like the idea of working with animals, in particular dogs, without the need to go back to university. Does anyone have any advice or courses to do?
My CV is very fitness related, will this impact non sport related job hunting?
I would also like to work from home doing something sport related but have looked on every job site going, but i am still going to look every day.
All in all, when did you know what you wanted to do?
