I live in a small town in Michigan and looking forward to pursuing a career in medicine, with hopes to go to medical school in the future. I recently applied for this administrative/research role at UCLA medical hospital. I got a job offer yesterday, and it starts at $22 an hour with benefits. I am originally from California, so the location isn't unfamiliar for me, but I would have to find an apartment (which isn't really a problem). I just don't know if its worth it? A lot of the work has an administrative side to it, like making PowerPoints, inputing patient data, which isn't much of a challenge. But it also has the research side that I do enjoy. I know the hospital is big, one of the best, and it would definitely be nice to gain connections and network with physicians, but is it worth to fly out of state and work for $22 an hour?
