Hi Reddit. Heres the story,
I was let go due to lack of work. It was no fault of my own. My boss was also retiring that same week, I knew I wouldnt have been very happy there without him, so I was sort of okay with this. I am working on a career in the military and this extra time is really beneficial. I thought I would take this opportunity to study while on unemployment for a month to really get things moving quickly.
I heard yesterday, one of my co workers that was chosen to stay put in their two weeks. He explained to me the situation there has quickly turned toxic after our old boss retired, and the new boss is buddies with the two other people that work there, and gave him all the shit jobs while the other two got all the good work. So ultimately he is getting out of there.
Now, I received a text from the new boss, that he wants me to come back and take his place.
Its hard to explain the entire situation in full detail without this post being ridiculously long. So short is, I dont want to return to a toxic job, I want this time to focus on my military career.
Do I turn this down, and would it affect my unemployment?
This is tough for me to deal with, so Id like to see it from others perspective.
