So it's been about a year since I've had sustainable employment. I was laid off from my job at Enterprise Rent A Car almost exactly a year ago due to obvious reasons. Here is my resume in a nutshell:
- I graduated from a 4 year college in May 2020 with a B.S. in Marketing. I was even able to get into an internship program while in college, but sadly that didn't go anywhere.
- I have about 3 and a half years of continuous experience in retail jobs (10 months of which was with Enterprise)
- 1.5 of those years has been in a driving related role. I've been doing DoorDash on the side since August.
- I've been getting by with gigs and odd jobs since August. One of those jobs was a holiday job at Dollar Tree.
Right now, I would like to get into a full-time job ASAP since I have bills to pay. I don't even care about going into my field of study anymore. I just want a decent paying job doesn't require specialized experience, yet won't turn me down because they think I am overqualified.
For what it's worth, a local truck driving logistic company is advertising that they will pay you to get your CDL and that you don't have to pay a dime. My mom isn't too keen on that idea though, since their whole idea for me going to college was to avoid working in that field.
Any advice?
